I have wandered in the woods
Under moon and star
I’ve wandered places very near
And journeyed places far
And underneath the darkest boughs
I’ve sat beside the flames
And warmed my tired aching bones
Driving frost away
The warding light is my delight
To force the dark to flee
A shadow creeps about my camp
Who’s eyes I cannot see
A subtle movement makes me jump
With flight as my intent
But glow of light strikes back the night
Each ember heaven sent
And though my soul is full of dread
A courage I will find
Until the final ember dims
And fear puts out my mind
