Are any of you as tired as me?
With all this horrid war
I’d like to think that days of peace
are not far from the door
And do you find your lids are heavy
with weight of many thoughts?
Distractions seem to fill my head
my mind must places go.
I am tired, and much despaired
of all these riches gained
at one expense, much wickedness
to widows, poor, and maimed.
Oh my Church, my lovely bride
wherefore could you be?
I wish for you to pay your dues
and follow good commands
Forbid that I get up and try
to do my very best
To follow Him, who took my sins
And left my spirit blessed
Though I could walk,
at love I balk
The Church should work instead.
