G.O.O.D, or Get Out of Dodge, is a phrase used by survivalists to mean “Get out of here”. It can be used in reference to your bug out bag, I.N.C.H bag, or any piece of equipment you would use to get out of a bad situation.

Bug Out, Bugging Out
Bug Out is a term used by Survivalists meaning to leave a location. This can be in reference to a disaster, combat situation, or permanent displacement. There is debate by many about when to bug out, be it well before an event, after, or if you should at all. Bugging out is typically up toContinue reading “Bug Out, Bugging Out”
Bushcraft
Bushcraft is the art of creating things in austere environments. It uses tools like knives, hatchets, axes, and augers to produce livable shelters and campsites. Many of the tools required for this skillset are featured in the Bug Out Bag and I.N.C.H Bags It’s a highly useful skillset for both short and long term survival.Continue reading “Bushcraft”
I.F.A.K (Individual First Aid Kit)
The I.F.A.K is the first line of medical kit, and should be available as much of the time as possible. It is designed to be small and fit on your belt, and typically features a tourniquet, gauze, and chest seals. This should be capable of treating basic wounds long enough to get you to moreContinue reading “I.F.A.K (Individual First Aid Kit)”
The First 72: Water
Continuing the first 72 series, I’m going to talk about water preparation. Water preparation is CRUCIAL to your survival, and you’ll need to increase your water intake to prevent dehydration and the issues that come with it. With that in mind, there are two really useful, simple things you can carry on your person. The Tourniquet The tourniquet addresses one of the most seriousContinue reading “Two Simple Medical Devices You Should Own”
Bug Out or Bug In: First Steps In Disaster Response, Part 1
When people think about a natural disaster, they often think of packing up as much as they can carry, and driving or walking away from society. It’s called bugging out, and I first heard of it on a show called Doomsday Preppers (A stupid show, that has since been mercifully cancelled). It’s the standard strategyContinue reading “Bug Out or Bug In: First Steps In Disaster Response, Part 1”
Fire Extinguishers: The Things YOU Need to know
Every home should have one, and depending on the size of your home, perhaps more than one. One of the most common kinds of natural or man made disasters is, in fact, the household fire. Electrical fires, cooking fires, and other kinds of accidental fires, are all causes of injury and death. But you can’tContinue reading “Fire Extinguishers: The Things YOU Need to know”
Modern Survival: Amanda Eller
On May 8th, a 35 year old physical therapist and yoga instructor got in her car, and headed out to the Makawao Forest Reserve, on the Northern side of Maui, Hawaii. She was dressed in yoga pants and a tank top. Her goal, a three mile hike, was about to become a very, very dangerousContinue reading “Modern Survival: Amanda Eller”
What is Modern Survival?
Since the first days of mankind, humans have been locked in a constant struggle against one, inescapable, permanent thing. Death. This battle has become known as… Survival. A car crash, an active shooter, an earthquake. These are all examples of a Modern Survival situation. Modern Survival is a term I first heard from Mike Glover,Continue reading “What is Modern Survival?”
