To Grow In Kindness

How would you improve your community?

I am, quite often, an angry, venomous, spiteful person. And I confess this, not out of pride, but awareness. I am, as most in America, untrusting, unkind, confrontational, and very un-Christlike.

When asked about what I can do to improve my community, I must think first on the greater flaw. The flaw that exists in me is reflective of a whole part, and in treating my own sickness, perhaps I can find a cure for the whole.

Perhaps not.

But in seeking a treatment for me, I have improved my community, because I AM a part of that community. And while all of us aren’t made to impact our community in great ways, any impact is better than none.

So I would seek to still my own heart. To be at peace, and to seek peace, and to love the people close to me better. Perhaps in this kindness, in these small moments, I can improve my community more.
