Hey guys, and welcome back to the Squared Away Series. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been active here, and for that I must apologize. But hey, I’m back, and guess what? It’s time for reviews. Like, a lot of reviews. So here’s the plan: I’ve got reviews of some 5.11 tactical footwear, a plate carrier, a knife, some Tyr Tactical gear, and more. I’ve also got some garden updates in the works!
The State of the World
I think it’s safe to say right now that the world is a pretty restless place. There’s political tension, there’s potential for economic disaster caused by shortages. The stock market and bitcoin are both leveraging a lot of currency right now, with steep and dramatic action going both ways. Ammunition shortages are still at a critical level, leaving a lot of people short on time to train, and debilitating us when it comes to our ability to prepare.
What have I been up to?
Well, it’s hard to say. I haven’t been doing a great job of taking care of myself, or my house, or, well, anything. I’ve been burnt out pretty hard, and the hits keep coming from work. We’ve had a ton of storms come through the area recently, which felled one of the trees in the yard, and let me say, that was a LOT of work to cut up. Also, I picked up a German Shepherd pup, which I’m sad to say will most likely have to be put down due to a congenital defect. It’s sad, and I was honestly devastated to find out about it, but it’s the circle of life. I’m going to be treating him to the time of his life for the remainder of his days, and will be looking into getting and training a new pup soon.
Future Plans
So next up, I’m going to be working on product reviews, practicing my skills, and fixing up the house. We’ve got the garden up and running, we’re planting bushes, and I’ve got a ton of logs to cut up, stumps to burn, and preparedness to do. I’ve also recently been sent some products from Matchpoint USA, which produces some pretty cool EDC gear. So those will be coming up soon, and I’ll be looking at doing more quality product reviews over time. (Disclaimer: I won’t be doing any paid reviews at any time, no matter what, EVER. I’m not goin to have any bias influencing the information I share, and if I hate something, I’m gonna be the first to say so). It’s also time for me to be getting back in shape. so I’ll be getting back to the gym, and maybe posting some workout challenges?
