Squared Away Ep. 3: Growing, growing, growing!

What’s up guys, it’s episode three, revenge of the plants, and today, I’m gonna give you the fill in on what’s been happening! We’ll be covering fitness, plants, and tools today, and I am PUMPED. Let’s dive in, alright?

Garden Stuff!

I’m going to start with the garden growing that’s been happening for a week or two now. We’ve added in a bunch of new vegetables and herbs, including tomatoes, hot peppers, and oregano. This has been going really well and I look forward to seeing the results. I’ve also acquired another species of mint, so I’ll be getting that into the ground soon too.

With mint in the ground, I should start seeing outward spread quickly.

My propagation of my prior plants are starting to take root , which would help with production. This is a great asset, because mint helps prevent outbreaks of mosquitoes and other pests, which I’ve had issues with before. Not a fun time, so we’re trying to cut off the growth.

Mint cuttings beginning to root. Next step is getting them in the dirt!

Gun Stuff

So I have a Daniel Defense AR-15 and I am a huge fan, these guns are great. It’s kitted out with a Holosun red dot sight which I love, and a Modlite OKW Scout light, which I also love.

I am a huge fan of second amendment rights, and this thing is a beautiful, quality piece of equipment, and I’ve been working on it for a long time. But now I need to start stocking up on ammo, and training myself to a level of proficiency. So for the next three months, it will be my priority to buy a box of ammo each pay period, and get up to a point where I’ve got more practice.

Workout of the Week!

This weeks big workout was a 8.7 mile hike up a local mountain. It was brutal, with a backpack weighing in at about 20 pounds and doing aggressive interval training up the mountain. I’ve never been a good runner, but this was a pleasant surprise to me how well I handled it. I was up and back down in about three hours, so not terrible overall for me, but I definitely need some work.
