Squared Away Ep. 1: Modlite OKW, Body Armor, PT days.

Welcome to Squared Away, the weekly update to my life’s preps. This week was an expensive week for me, albeit a very beneficial one. I purchased the Modlite OKW weapon mounted light for my AR-15, and it came in on Monday. It’s a phenomenal light, from an American company, which I couldn’t say no to. The light is incredibly bright, with a tight beam for good long distance viewing. It is, however, still very well suited for indoors work, and since it’s going on my home defense tool, I needed that to be the case.

I also went ahead and picked up the 5.11 Prime plate carrier, and a pair of Hoplite Armor plates to go into it. That cost totaled about 300$ in itself, but I’ll also be using it for my gym time as well, so it’s not nearly as huge of a loss as you’d think. I always like to go dual purpose when possible.

That leads into the last thing: my physics fitness. I’m being honest with myself and recognizing that I am not as healthy as I should be. I’m not overweight, but I’m not very strong, and running is VERY hard on me. So this week I’m getting started light, with some basic running and stair climbs, pushups, and my favorite, pull-ups. Hopefully I can build myself up to where I want to be.

That wraps up this weeks Squared Away episode. Next Tuesday I’ll be posting a new life update, with more information about the preps of the week. Hopefully this helps my content get more regular and increases the quality.
