The medical field is a complicated world to get into. It is also one that is completely necessary to develop knowledge of, at least on a basic level. With that in mind, there are two really useful, simple things you can carry on your person.
The Tourniquet
The tourniquet addresses one of the most serious forms of accidental death, which is massive bleeding. There are multiple brands of tourniquets on the market, and any of them may be applicable to the modern survivalist. Whether you are working with power tools, driving a car, operating a firearm, there are plenty of times where something can go wrong, and a tourniquet could be necessary to stop the bleeding. The Pocket CPR Mask
Heart disease is sitting pretty at the top of our leading causes of death in the United States. What that means for us as civilians and survivalists is that doing CPR is probably going to be a necessity in our lifetimes, so we might as well be ready. But doing mouth to mouth respirations on someone isn’t without risk, as putting your mouth on someone else’s can potentially cause diseases to spread to you, and it may not be something you know they have. A pocket CPR mask costs about 10$ on Amazon, it can go either in a pants pocket, a backpack pocket, or just be stored in a medical kit. It doesn’t really matter where you keep them, as long as you have access when you need it. There is NO reason not to own one at that price point!
